Nobody is guaranteed another day or minute. On Judgment Day every thought, word, and deed will be exposed. All will be guilty of lying, stealing and more. Nothing will be hidden from God. The penalty for sin is punishment in Hell. The good news is God so loved the world that He gave His only Son that whoever believes in Him will not die but have Eternal Life.
Jesus took the punishment for sins upon Himself dying on the cross and rising from the dead. God commands you to repent and put all your faith and trust in Jesus alone to save you. There is no other way. No amount of good works will get you to heaven. Repent and trust in Him alone today. You may not have tomorrow. Read the Bible daily and obey what you read.
Will you receive God’s amazing gift or reject it?
"...To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life." Revelation 21:6
Jesus answered, "Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” John 4:13-14
The Bible tells us that while most people consider themselves good people (Proverbs 20:6) the truth is that there is no one who is good, not even one (Romans 3:10). A person who thinks they can get to Heaven by being good does not understand how God sees sin, punishment, or Hell (John 3:18, 36). The more we see the depth of our sin the more we realize the extent of God's love to save us, making grace truly amazing (Romans 2:4, 5:8). Conversely, a shallow view of sin leads to a shallow view of God’s love.
Many think that God’s law is a standard to keep to merit Heaven, but it’s purpose is to be a mirror of truth that brings the knowledge of sin (Romans 7:7). When you get up in the morning and look in the mirror, it is not a pretty sight. If you want to look good, turn the light off! To see truth, turn the light on, and observe the damage that occurred overnight. When we look at ourselves in the mirror of God’s goodness as reflected in His holy and perfect law, what do we see? We see that God views lust as adultery (Matthew 5:28), hatred as murder (1 John 3:15), and that no secret sin is hidden from Him of whom we will give an account (Hebrews 4:13). When we see our sin in all its ugliness and we will realize that there is nothing we can do to remedy it.
The bad news is that the law cannot save us. It simply teaches us (Romans 3:20, 7:13; Galatians 3:24) to not trust in our own goodness and leads us to trust by grace through faith in the goodness of Jesus alone for salvation (Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 10:4). God demonstrated his love so by pouring the violence of His wrath on His only Son that we might go free.
It was on the cross that Jesus suffered the punishment for sin that was not his. He died in the place of those who would believe and rose again from the dead so that those same people who deserved punishment could be pardoned and God glorified. Now that is love. That’s the good news. God’s grace is amazing!
God commands that you repent and believe. He will turn no one away who turns to Him. However, to die in your sins apart from God's mercy will bring a fearful day of judgment and a destination of Hell. Don't wait another moment. This is the day of salvation.
